What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Auditor position at Comfort Inn & Suites Rapid City?
The Comfort Inn & Suites Rapid City is currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic candidates for our Night Audit/Guest Services position who have a true passion for hospitality!
The schedule for this position will be from 11pm to 7am.
Night Audit responsibilities include nightly balancing duties, daily paperwork, and shift reports. Additional responsibilities include guest registration and check-out, PBX operations. Also provide prompt, courteous, and efficient handling of all requests for guest room reservations, changes, and cancellations in accordance with established standards. Respond to and provide information on hotel services, local attractions, travel directions, etc. While being part of a very limited team or working alone at certain points of the night, ensuring the guests and property are safe and secure.
Job Specific
- Prepare all daily reports and distribute to respective management
- Keep lobby, coffee stations, breakfast rooms and other additional areas clean during your shift.
- Review arrivals noting special requests, blocking rooms as needed.
- Complete all items on the Overnight checklist by end of shift.
- Follow established key control policy.
- Ensure proper credit policies are followed. Submit all lost & found items.
- Open, secure, and balance out daily shift bank which involves counting and verifying cash, check, and credit card transactions occurring while on duty.
- Process guest check-ins and check-outs.
- Set up property breakfast based on brand standards.
- Be upbeat, friendly, outgoing, understanding, and empathetic at all times.
- Empathetically listen to guest inquiries and provide appropriate responses.
- Maintain confidentiality of all guests and hotel information.
- Employ attention to detail to ensure security of guest room access.
- Understand and execute all brand accounting standards ensuring accurate settlement of folios, routing of charges and adjustments.
- Maintain guest history files on all guests.
- Accommodate room changes expediently.
- Document all guest requests, complaints, or problems immediately as well as be able to take ownership of situation and resolve the situation. Follow up to ensure completion and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain complete knowledge at all times of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room types, numbers, layout, decor, appointments and locations, room rates, special packages and promotions.
- Be familiar with the hotel’s phone and alarm system.
- Be familiar and able to offer suggestions on local attractions and businesses.
- Deliver personalized, memorable guest experiences.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Prior customer service skills/experience is a plus, previous hotel experience/education is extremely beneficial; however, your personality, integrity, passion for customer service, determination for career growth and overall attitude are the most important. - Previous hotel front desk and/or customer service experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
- Ability to input information accurately and efficiently into computer systems.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
- Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
- Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time.
- Previous cashiering experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for duration of work shift.
