Hotel Assistant General Manager & Sales

Job Overview
The Assistant General Manager & Sales is responsible for supporting the overall operations of the hotel while driving revenue growth through sales initiatives. This role combines daily operational leadership with active sales responsibilities, ensuring exceptional guest service, team performance, and achievement of financial goals. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. Previous hotel experience required.

Duties

Operations Management

· Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations

· Ensure high standards of guest satisfaction, cleanliness, and service quality

· Supervise front desk and other teams as needed

· Handle guest concerns, complaints, and escalations professionally

· Monitor occupancy, rates, and operational performance metrics

· Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and company policies

Sales & Revenue Generation

· Actively solicit new business through calls, networking, and local outreach

· Maintain and grow relationships with corporate accounts, groups, and local businesses

· Identify and pursue group, leisure, and business travel opportunities

· Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue goals

· Manage negotiated rates, RFPs, and local account contracts

· Track sales activities and maintain accurate records

Financial Performance

· Support budget management and cost control initiatives

· Analyze occupancy, ADR (Average Daily Rate), and RevPAR performance

· Assist with forecasting and revenue management strategies

· Ensure proper cash handling and audit procedures are followed

Leadership & Team Development

· Train, coach, and motivate staff to deliver excellent service

· Assist with scheduling, hiring, and performance evaluations

· Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment

· Lead by example in professionalism and guest interaction

Administrative Duties

· Assist with reporting, payroll, and documentation

· Maintain accurate operational and sales records

· Support audits, inspections, and brand compliance reviews
