Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental well-being.
- Offer memory care support for clients with cognitive impairments, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
- Perform patient monitoring tasks to track vital signs and report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences while assisting with cooking when necessary.
- Provide direct support for clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients, ensuring a safe environment free from hazards.
Qualifications
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred; willingness to obtain certification is acceptable.
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as social work or direct support is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while providing physical assistance to clients.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively document care provided.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
