Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing symptoms, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as required.
- Administer medications safely following prescribed care plans and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support clients in engaging with their community through social activities and facilitate transportation when needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.
- Follow detailed care plans designed by healthcare providers to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care while respecting each client’s preferences and dignity.
Requirements
- Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments; group home experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia/Alzheimer’s care are highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
