What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Support Assistant position at Comfort Hold Dentures LLC?
Job Posting: Clinical Support Assistant
Job Type: Part-time
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, No Weekends
About Us: At Comfort Hold Dentures, we are committed to providing exceptional dental care and ensuring our patients feel comfortable and well-cared for. We have pride in our work and believe that patients should receive quality work and care.
The Clinical Support Assistant is a vital hybrid role designed to optimize our dentists' efficiency and maintain the highest standards of safety. You will split your time between two critical areas: ensuring our operatories are flawlessly sanitized and prepped for the next patient, and acting as a clinical scribe to document precise medical notes, treatment plans, and diagnoses in real-time alongside the dentist.
Perfect for Future Dental Professionals: If you are a pre-dental, pre-hygiene, or healthcare student looking to gain invaluable, hands-on exposure to clinical documentation, dental terminology, and daily practice operations, this role offers an incredible stepping stone.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operatory Sanitation & Infection Control
- Rapid Room Turnover: Efficiently break down, clean, and disinfect treatment rooms between patients according to OSHA, CDC, and practice guidelines.
- Aseptic Prep: Set up operatories with the exact instruments, materials, and charts required for the next scheduled procedure.
- Sterilization Support: Transport used instruments to the sterilization area and assist with the cleaning and autoclaving process as needed.
- Inventory Management: Keep treatment rooms fully stocked with clinical supplies so the dental team never runs short mid-procedure.
2. Clinical Documentation & Scribing
- Real-Time Charting: Sit chairside during exams to accurately type the dentist’s dictated notes, clinical findings, and periodontal measurements into our electronic health records (EHR) software.
- Treatment Plan Entry: Input detailed treatment recommendations, tooth numbers, and phases into patient charts as directed by the clinical team.
- Post-Op & Administrative Accuracy: Ensure all medical history updates, consent forms, and post-operative instructions are properly documented and organized before the patient leaves the chair.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. (Coursework in science, biology, or healthcare is a major plus).
- Tech Savvy: Strong typing skills (45 WPM) and comfort navigating digital software. Experience with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft) is an asset but we are willing to train the right person.
- Attention to Detail: Deep appreciation for cleanliness, organization, and strict compliance protocols.
- Strong Communicator: Ability to listen closely to complex clinical instructions and transcribe them accurately.
- Team Player: High energy, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
