Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Haltom City, TX. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating and air conditioning systems, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in residential and light commercial settings. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostic tests, completing preventive maintenance, checking system performance and safety, and recommending repairs or upgrades. The technician will interact with customers on-site, explain findings and service options, complete detailed service documentation, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and environmental regulations. The role also involves collaborating with team members to schedule jobs efficiently and maintain a clean, organized work environment and company vehicle.
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve HVAC performance, mechanical, and system issues.
- Knowledge of plumbing principles as they relate to HVAC systems, including condensate drainage and related components.
- Experience with preventive maintenance practices for heating and cooling equipment, including inspection, cleaning, and calibration.
- Understanding of EPA regulations and requirements, including proper handling and recovery of refrigerants.
- Practical knowledge of electricity, including wiring, controls, and safe work practices for HVAC equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders, and to use HVAC tools and diagnostic equipment safely.
- Strong customer service, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently in the field.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to meet physical demands of the job (lifting, bending, working in confined spaces and varying weather conditions).
