Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our dentists during patient procedures, ensure a high level of patient care, and help maintain an efficient and organized clinical environment. This role is essential to delivering a positive patient experience and high-quality dental services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures (e.g., fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals)
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required
- Prepare patients for treatments and ensure their comfort throughout procedures
- Record patient medical histories and update records accurately
- Provide post-operative care instructions to patients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms and common areas
- Manage dental supplies inventory and restock as needed
- Schedule appointments and assist with front desk duties when necessary
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred
- Current Dental Assistant certification (e.g., DANB) preferred or required per state regulations
- X-ray certification (as required by state)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
