Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols.
- Record vital signs and medical history using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic.
- Manage medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control guidelines.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experience.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience with chairside assisting in various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry is advantageous.
- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques such as X-ray and 3D scanning is preferred.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical imaging, infection control, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge is required.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical procedures necessary for providing high-quality patient care.
