Job Title: Licensed Child Care Administrator
The Licensed Child Care Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a child care facility, ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations, and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role includes staff supervision, program development, family engagement, and administrative management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure the facility complies with all state and local licensing regulations
- Maintain proper records, including staff files, child records, and inspection reports
- Prepare for and manage licensing inspections and audits
2. Program Management
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs
- Monitor classroom activities to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment
3. Staff Supervision & Development
- Hire, train, and supervise teachers and support staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
- Ensure staff meet required certifications and training hours
4. Family & Community Relations
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians
- Address concerns, feedback, and conflict resolution
- Promote the center within the community
5. Administrative & Financial Oversight
- Manage enrollment, attendance, and scheduling
- Oversee budget, billing, and payroll processes
- Order supplies and manage facility resources
6. Health & Safety
- Enforce health, sanitation, and safety policies
- Ensure emergency procedures are in place and practiced
- Monitor child well-being and incident reporting
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Child Care Administrator License (per state requirements)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
- Previous experience in child care or preschool management
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of licensing regulations and child development principles
