Comfort Connect® is transforming the home services industry with an innovative financing and technology platform that empowers contractors and delivers homeowners a worry-free home comfort experience. As we continue our rapid growth, we’re seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to lead our sales organization and help scale our national footprint. This role is preferably based in Bethesda, MD, but we’ll also review remote applications to find the right candidate.
The Director of Sales will lead our Sales function, including but not limited to, recruiting and managing a high-performing team of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs). In addition, the successful candidate will collaborate with the VP of Marketing to build an optimal go-to-market strategy to enhance the Company’s robust growth trajectory.
This is a player-coach leadership role with a significant amount of autonomy. The successful candidate will develop sales strategy, drive execution, and personally engage with high-value prospects and strategic partners. The ideal candidate has proven experience in B2B and/or B2B2C sales leadership, preferably within home services, fintech, or subscription-based industries, and thrives in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment with sales cycles that vary from a few days to several months depending on the opportunity.
This position is designed as a growth role with the expectation that the right candidate can evolve into a Vice President of Sales.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to build and execute a go-to-market strategy that achieves the Company’s ambitious growth goals.
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy to achieve contractor acquisition and origination targets for the Premier Program and other financial products offered via the Comfort Connect platform.
- Recruit and manage a high-performing team of Regional Sales Managers to execute on market penetration and revenue growth targets.
- Identify and prioritize target markets, verticals, and contractor profiles that align with Comfort Connect’s ideal customer profile (ICP).
- Partner closely with Marketing to align campaigns with sales objectives and ensure strong lead flow and quality.
Business Development Execution
- Personally engage with large contractor groups, best practice training organizations, distributors, and OEMs to close high-impact deals.
- Guide RSMs in leveraging multiple lead generation sources - industry associations, trade events, referrals, channel partners, and outbound prospecting.
- Ensure consistent, value-driven discovery calls with qualified prospects that position Comfort Connect as the industry leader in Home Comfort-as-a-Service.
- Represent Comfort Connect at national and regional trade shows, conferences, and industry events to expand brand awareness and credibility.
- Oversee sales pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and opportunity progression using HubSpot.
Team Management & Development
- Build a performance-driven culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and results with a focus on reporting transparency.
- Conduct regular sales training, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
- Foster cross-functional relationships with other internal teams, including Training, Account Management, Product, and Operations to ensure world-class contractor experiences.
Qualifications
Required:
- 8 years of progressive sales experience with at least 3 years in a sales leadership role managing outside sales teams.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving growth in B2B and/or B2B2C environments.
- Strong understanding of sales pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM utilization (HubSpot preferred).
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and evolving business environment.
- An unwavering commitment to integrity and ethical behavior in ALL business dealings.
Preferred:
- Experience in, or knowledge of, home services, HVAC, plumbing, or related industries.
- Exposure to fintech, subscription-based, or two-sided marketplace models.
- Established network within the contractor, distributor, or manufacturer segments of the home services industry.
