Position Summary:
The Outpatient Psychotherapist provides individual, family, and/or group therapy services to clients in an outpatient setting. This role focuses on assessing mental health needs, developing treatment plans, delivering evidence-based interventions, and supporting clients in achieving emotional, behavioral, and psychological wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives
- Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches (CBT, DBT, solution-focused, trauma-informed care, etc.)
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and payer requirements
- Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when necessary
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, schools, and other community supports
- Participate in case staffing, supervision, and team meetings
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and licensing regulations
- Provide referrals to community resources when appropriate
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field
- Active licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or license-eligible) preferred
- Experience providing outpatient mental health therapy preferred
- Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnosis and treatment planning
- Strong clinical assessment and crisis management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Work Environment:
- Outpatient clinic setting
- May include in-person and telehealth sessions
- Flexible scheduling, including evenings as needed
