Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated caregivers to provide high-quality support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. As a caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their safety and well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer’s.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs and observing changes in their condition.
- Administer medication according to care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning based on dietary needs.
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe living environment.
- Support clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary for patient mobility assistance.
- Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with care plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, hospice care, or long-term care is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certifications are a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism or developmental disabilities, is highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills for monitoring patients’ conditions and reporting changes effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
