Responsibilities
- Assess infants’ cranial shape and size to determine the appropriate helmet fit and design
- Precisely fit, adjust, and modify cranial helmets to ensure optimal correction and comfort for each patient
- Educate parents and caregivers on helmet usage, maintenance, and care routines to promote compliance and safety
- Collaborate with pediatricians, neurologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
- Document all fittings, adjustments, patient progress, and treatment outcomes accurately in medical records
- Monitor infants’ progress throughout treatment duration, making necessary modifications for continued effectiveness
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to health and safety standards
Requirements
- Certified Orthotist with current credentials demonstrating expertise in cranial helmet fitting for infants
- Proven experience fitting infant cranial orthoses or similar pediatric orthotic devices
- Strong understanding of infant cranial anatomy, growth patterns, and deformity correction techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate families and collaborate with healthcare teams
- Ability to work compassionately with infants and their families during potentially stressful situations
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills for precise adjustments and modifications
- Knowledge of relevant health regulations and safety protocols for pediatric orthotic care
