Managing Director- Investment Banking Position Responsibilities: * Identifies and executes business development efforts for Comerica's capital markets by working with business relationship managers to call on current and prospective clients. Relationship development is at the most senior external or internal client levels. * Demonstrates a consistent track record of contributing to or generating profits or profit opportunities and managing costs/expenses for the bank. * Develops the optimal financing structure tailored to the client's capital needs, taking into account market appetite and conditions. * Enhance the customer experience as demonstrated through the voice of the customer. * Successfully uses the firm's network to cross-sell and maximize revenues. * Recognized and valued by clients for providing value-added ideas and solutions. * Lead the deal team executing on mandates won. This ranges from due diligence up, running investor meetings and on through documentation to assure timely closing. * Recognized as a leader and role model within the department. * Shares credit with others for their contributions. * Appropriately manages the highest level of risk. * Demonstrate and expect from team risk behaviors that align with Comerica's risk appetite. * Vet potential risks of a situation and apply appropriate mitigants and continue to monitor effectively going forward. * Ensure operational activities and controls are followed to aid in minimizing various risk elements. * Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures. * Risk Management: * Appropriately manages the highest level of risk. * Demonstrate and expect from team risk behaviors that align with Comerica's risk appetite. * Vet potential risks of a situation and apply appropriate mitigants and continue to monitor effectively going forward. * Ensure operational activities and controls are followed to aid in minimizing various risk elements. * Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures. * Maintains proper individual licensing requirements * Training: * Responsible to keep training and advancing the development and capabilities of Directors, Vice President and Associate level colleagues. * Demonstrates leadership within the team and valued for advice and counsel; has proven credibility on the team. * Support a motivational, team based environment and support the development of directors and associates * Daily Operations: * Assists resolving issues in the daily activity of various deals. * Works with the loan group and customers to ensure smooth closings of transactions.
