Firm & Position Overview
Local public accounting firm is seeking a bookkeeper with three to four years of experience, to function across an array of practice areas. The firm engages in, among other things, full service bookkeeping, payroll preparation and related tax filings as well as contract-controllership activities. The right candidate would function in all of these areas and also support to income tax return preparers during the filing season.
Job Description
Completion of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls utilizing QuickBooks Online and Enterprise Desktop software. Payroll responsibilities Include setup of new employees, preparation and filing of EFTPS payments and quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
Bookkeeping/writeup for multiple small business clients using bank downloads into QuickBooks Online and Desktop. Completion of related bank and credit card reconciliations. For larger clients, review of general ledger accounts for anomalous or uncharacteristic transactions and correction of same.
Preparation and filing of sales tax returns and Business Personal Property renditions.
Inputting of client source document information for Form 1040 via the tax software input module during the filing season.
Qualifications
Functional knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial practices.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
Good client communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the maintenance of a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervisio
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $42,500.00 - $49,500.00 per year
