Who we are looking for:
As a Lab Supervisor you will supervise a team of at least 3 technicians who will carry out a variety of physical tasks to include properly performing, recording and reporting the results of basic laboratory procedures for soils and concrete (for compaction, particle size, quality, and chemical composition).
What you'll be doing:
Including but not limited to:
- Supervising team of 3 technicians
- Performing complex laboratory tests on soil and preparing reports of results
- Maintaining a log of all samples
- Applying basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, and inspect constructed work
- Entering test results into a web-based computer program
- Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Communicating with clients, contractors, engineers and technicians regarding construction laboratory testing
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to have:
- 3 years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Requires in-depth knowledge of tests performed by a soils and materials testing laboratory (ASTM, CTM, AASHTO)
- ACI Level I Concrete, state DOT, or ICC certifications in soils
- Experience supervising a team highly desired
- Ability to multi-task and meat deadlines
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve goals
- Excellent attention to details
- Valid driver’s license and good-standing driving record
- Some travel will be required
- Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
