Who we’re looking for:
This position will provide professional services under general supervision. This may include performing field investigations, analyzing/interpreting data, and preparing technical reports for services provided.
What you’ll be doing
Including but not limited to:
- Performs soil and rock classification in the field and laboratory
- Performs hand auger borings, standard DCP testing, and Kessler DCP testing
- Site reconnaissance and boring layout
- Supervises field exploration programs for transportation projects – must be willing to participate in overnight travel, and occasional night and/or weekend work
- Communicates and coordinates with subcontractors
- Assists with wetland delineation
- Coordinates underground utility clearance
- Field surveying
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering or related field
- Entry level to 4 years of experience in a related field
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
- Must be able to successfully manage numerous assignments and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
- Ability to continuously sit, stand, and walk
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work outside in frequent changes of temperatures
- Ability to occasionally bend, squat, climb, push, and pull
- Ability to work in environments containing dust and fumes
- Ability to frequently drive to and from work sites, must have valid driver’s license with good-standing driving record
- Ability to occasionally travel overnight (less than 35%)
