Job Description

In this role, the intern would support advancing digital opportunity through strategic communications, applied research, and data analysis. Responsibilities would include:

• Using GIS tools to identify which areas in our footprint have the fastest or slowest broadband adoption rate trends and then testing whether any variables help explain these patterns.
• Analyzing state broadband digital equity plans to identify which non-profit partners have been given grants, what those non-profits focus on, and where they are located.
• Designing conversation guides for focus groups or in-depth interviews, helping design surveys, and analyzing the results. Identifying major themes and creating PowerPoint slides to disseminate findings.
• Leveraging individual expertise to design and lead a major project during the summer.
• Analyzing ways to enhance the Internet Essentials application, conducted thorough literature reviews on a subject that intersects with broadband policy (such as health and the digital divide or housing and the digital divide), or created scripts in python/R to help streamline processes.
• Strategic communications support for events, talking points, blog posts, partnerships, and other public engagements around Digital Opportunity work.
