Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed land surveys using advanced equipment such as GPS, 3D scanners, and Total Stations to gather accurate spatial data.
- Prepare and review survey sketches, schematics, and detailed plans utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and Carlson software.
- Perform topographic surveys, ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), boundary determinations, and construction staking to support project development.
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools like ArcGIS to analyze spatial data and generate comprehensive maps.
- Operate and maintain survey equipment including Trimble units, GPS systems, and 3D scanners for precise data collection across diverse terrains.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and architects to develop accurate site plans and schematics that meet project specifications.
- Ensure all survey activities comply with local regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices while maintaining meticulous records of fieldwork and data.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Land Surveyor with relevant state or regional certification.
- Extensive knowledge of land surveying principles including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math fundamentals essential for precise measurements.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and drafting tools for creating detailed drawings.
- Strong understanding of GIS platforms like ArcGIS for spatial analysis and mapping solutions.
- Experience operating survey equipment including GPS units (Trimble), 3D scanners, Total Stations, and data collection devices.
- Familiarity with civil engineering concepts related to construction layout, schematics development, ALTA surveys, and data management.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately while applying math skills for complex calculations.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects.
- Prior experience in land surveying within construction or civil engineering environments is highly desirable.
