DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) Wastewater Treatment Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) Wastewater Treatment Technician to join our environmental operations team. This role involves overseeing and maintaining wastewater treatment processes, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, and optimizing system performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and technical skills, with experience in water treatment systems and heavy equipment operation. Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems to ensure efficient wastewater treatment.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform equipment repairs on treatment units, pumps, valves, and related machinery.
• Collect and analyze data related to water quality parameters, process performance, and system efficiency.
• Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to automate and control treatment processes.
• Perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment as needed for maintenance or system adjustments.
• Maintain detailed records of operational activities, maintenance schedules, and system performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues, plumbing problems, or system malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
• Assist with construction or installation of new equipment or system upgrades as required.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations, including proper handling of chemicals and heavy machinery.

Requirements

• Proven experience with water treatment processes, especially wastewater treatment systems like DAF units.
• Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, plumbing, and maintenance of industrial systems.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS).
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in an industrial setting.
• Strong analytical skills for data collection, process analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and system adjustments.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding environments.
• Experience with tanker operations or construction projects is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to water treatment facilities is essential.
