We're looking to hire an experienced Pre-Press Tech to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Able to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs in various stages of production.
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXpress, Macintosh platforms, font management software, as well as other related graphic arts programs.
- Good knowledge of fonts and file types.
- Able to read and understand complex work instructions.
- Proficient with Excel and data merging.
- Review customer supplied files and be able to communicate issues and or recommendations with external as well as internal customers alike.
- Understand and follow production schedule priorities.
- Imposition of printing plates. Experience with the following software programs: Preps, RealPro and XMF.
- Work with Press Department regarding plate adjustments etc.
- Ensure proper formatting, copy and or color breaks prior to plate output.
- Able to proofread copy as required.
- Able to perform general processor maintenance.
- Maintain CTP equipment keeping plate loader filled.
- Manage offset plate inventory along with general press department supplies such as: plate cleaner, blanket wash, ink, rollers as well as other supplies.
- Assist with screen making. Familiarity with different screen mesh, screen stretching, adhesive, coating, exposing and cutting a Rubylith.
- Must have strong technical ability and attention to details.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree, certificate of 3 to 5 years work experience.
- Knowledge of Macintosh computers, Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXpress, font management software.
- Sound knowledge of the Graphic Arts industry.
- Excellent written/verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of direct experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
