Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing general accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Credit Card and Floorplan Lending, ensuring accurate financial reporting and forecasting, compliance with applicable standards, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting management with financial analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage and perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
- Drive efficiency in AP processes, such as lead project to centralize the AP function in conjunction with CFO
- Improve controls
- Reduce use of checks by converting to ACH
- Play a key role in implementation of new ERP (future state)
- Lead team of 10 people; assess and build team
- Establish relationships across the accounting organization and operations
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Prior experience with audits and internal controls
