Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, hardworking, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team at Columbus Veterinary Clinic in SE Kansas. Our clinic provides care for both small animals (cats and dogs) and large animals( cattle, horses, small ruminants). The ideal canidate will have a strong interest in both companion and farm animals. This role is crucial in supporting our mission of delivering exceptional veterinary services and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.
- Provide compassionate care to animals in the clinic.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic.
- Handle and restrain animals safely for examinations.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care instructions.
- Assist with laboratory tests and sample collection.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar role.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
- Strong animal handling skills with various species.
- Ability to administer medications accurately.
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
