Job Overview
The Facilities Technician will oversee building activity, inside and out. Ensuring the health and safety standards are met that are set forth by the President and CEO. Directly support Operations department with on-going facility and team-related responsibilities. Assist security team with miscellaneous back-up support as needed. Initiate and create work orders, track, and report on those orders. Receive and dispatch work requests to staff, vendors, or service providers. Assist with the coordination and scheduling of maintenance activities. Negotiate contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities, buildings, and equipment to ensure a functional and safe workplace. Seeks to continuously improve processes, systems, and overall client satisfaction.
Duties
· Open building(s) – Main Office and HEC
· Delegate cleaning and maintenance tasks to facilities contractors.
· Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas; including all grounds and parking lots.
· Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.
· Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
· Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
· Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for CEO and other relevant staff.
· Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions.
· Maintains elevator service.
· Maintains door repair, interior and exterior.
· Monitors security personnel.
· Responsible for heating & cooling, as well as plumbing.
· Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.
· Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
· Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly. Maintaining the day-to-day operations in the facility.
· Acts as liaison between employees and any outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems.
· Drafts and implements preventive maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment.
· Ensures safety standards are followed throughout the facility.
· Participates on emergency preparedness planning team.
· Applies, or assists with application, for required environmental permits.
· Maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Special Events:
· Overseeing Board of Directors onsite meetings to ensure event is set up and runs smoothly
· Community event management (i.e., Mayme Moore Festival) that involves CUL
· Management of all other events that involve CUL space
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Qualifications
· High School diploma or Equivalent
· Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in facilities management, operations, or similar experience
· Ability to always maintain professionalism under stressful situations
· Ability to plan and manage work under severe time constraints
· Ability to multitask and work without direct supervision
· Proficient in MS Office, and possess strong written, verbal and people skills
· Strong organizational skills and collaborative style needed
· Excellent customer services skills with professional demeanor and networking skills
· Ability to manage time effectively and to work independently
· Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities
· Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
· Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings
· Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions
