Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as a part time Adjunct Instructor for the Commercial Truck Driving Program. Under general supervision, the instructor will provide instruction to students in the classroom and lab settings, preparing syllabi and lesson plans. This position is part-time/exempt. This position will require the following physical abilities: Sit, stand, walk, bend, push, and pull for (3) to (4) continuous hours, or longer at times in various indoor and outdoor working conditions Must be able to get underneath trucks and trailers to demonstrate part locations to students Must be able to walk along beside the truck during range maneuvers. Please note the following information regarding this position: May require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County) May require travel Will require teaching morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend classes Responsibilities: Providing instruction to students in the classroom and lab settings; Prepare syllabi and lesson plans; Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques, appropriate testing and grading procedures; Effective use of oral and written communications skills and knowledge of current in-field procedures; Follow approved course syllabus; Attends/completes all professional development training; Evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives; Maintain qualifications for employment as described by Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) policy manual and accreditation standards; Follow rules and regulations as described by TCSG and CTC; Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent State of Georgia Class A Commercial Driver's License Documented three (3) years paid, full-time truck driving experience **7-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) as supporting documentation of Georgia Class A CDL license will be required for those interviewed.** Preferred Qualifications: Documented Driver/trainer experience Post-secondary teaching experience Distance education teaching/learning experience Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
