SIgn-On Bonus Available
- CST or CST-FA = $15,000 w/ 24-month commitment
- OR RN = $10,000 w/ 18-month commitment.
- Experience OR RN (2yrs or more) = $20,000 w/ 24-month commitment
Job Description: Performs specified duties for the set-up, handling and maintenance of surgical supplies, instruments and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. Acts as first assist to the surgeon, performing various duties as outlined in the scope of practice for the certification. Understands the procedure being performed and works under medical supervision to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
Provides professional nursing care pre-operatively and intra-operatively. Acts as circulating nurse and scrub nurse. Performs specified duties for the set-up and maintenance of surgical areas, equipment and instruments. Performs functions in endoscopy, cystology, orthopedics, vascular and general surgical cases. Provides relief coverage in PACU.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or other prerequisite educational background to satisfy eligibility to enter the Surgical Assist Program.
- Must be a graduate of the Surgical Assistant Training Program, and be certified as Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Current BLS certification. Incumbent will be required to demonstrate competence in the performance of duties specific to all age groups of patients.
- Graduate of approved school of professional nursing.
- Current and valid NC or compact state license to practice professional nursing.
- BLS certified.
- Incumbent will be required to demonstrate competence in the performance of duties specific to all age groups of patients.
Experience: One year of previous experience as a RN in a critical care unit preferred but not required. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job in 6 months.
