Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Continuous Improvement Specialist based in Columbus, NE. The role involves identifying areas for improvement in manufacturing processes and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste. Responsibilities include analyzing workflows, conducting process evaluations, participating in Lean or Six Sigma initiatives, and leading training sessions to support a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure alignment with organizational goals is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform first piece inspections are performed at various points in the production process and at Final Assembly.
- Conduct inspections of incoming material, outsourced parts or returned product.
- Gather, record and/or report data and observations associated with duties and responsibilities.
- Simultaneously support the flow of product/information/material while insulating CHC from defects and inefficiencies.
- Exercise good judgment aligned with the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Consistently demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with CHC core values.
- Operate equipment as necessary to safely transport product (carts, forklifts, cranes, etc.).
- Observe all safety rules.
- Management retains the right to assign or change responsibilities to meet business conditions.
Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, and the use of continuous improvement tools such as value stream mapping and root cause analysis.
- Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Familiarity with hydraulic manufacturing or related industries is a plus.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Bilingual in Spanish is highly desired.
- Ability to work nights.
