Job Purpose:

CNC Programmer will work with our Design Engineers and CNC Machinists to write efficient and accurate toolpaths required to produce quality components of Hydraulic Cylinders. A working knowledge of Mastercam or similar CAM software is required.

This position will be a two stage position:

Stage 1:

Developing an understanding of our CNC machines and processes. Get a good grasp on all hydraulics cylinder components and their proper programs. Work along side CNC operators and supervisors. The duration of Stage 1 will be solely dependent on the applicants ability to retain the understanding of our programs and machining processes.

Stage 2:

Work with operator, supervisor, and design engineers to develop CNC programs for new hydraulics cylinder components. Develop more efficient programs of existing hydraulic cylinder components. Develop an understanding of specific tooling used for specific materials. Work with tool vendors to utilize all tools to their full capacity.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Review and understand 3D CAD models
  • Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
  • Communicate with design engineers and machinist to minimize set up times
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintain quality
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
  • Select appropriate speeds and feeds
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with programs as they arise
  • Follow all company programming and machining process standards
  • Check completed programs by running simulations or tests
  • Determine sequence of operations in a program
  • Simplify tooling time for machinist
  • Monitor all programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions to safely and successfully complete the tasks
  • Proficient understanding of engineering drawings and their related dimensions and tolerances
  • An aptitude for problem solving and ability to coordinate production jobs for efficiency
  • Comply with all ISO 9001:2015 requirements
  • Work with safety in mind and follow all safety guidelines
  • Management retains the right to assign or change responsibilities upon request

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED, Associates Degree in related field preferred.

Previous Experience Preferred:

  • Minimum of 3 years CNC Machining and Programming experience
  • Previous costing/quoting experience
  • Must have experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming
  • Excellent mechanical print reading and inspection skills
  • Blueprint reading experience

Skills Preferred:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong experience in both satisfying and improving multiple processes

Physical requirements

  • Physical Capacity Profile level 3 required
  • Maximum lifting requirement of 50 lbs

Pay: Depending on experience, please note that the pay on this posting is a range, not the exact compensation one will earn.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
