What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute - Instructional Assistants for Multiple Disabilities position at Columbus City Schools?
An Instructional Assistant (Multiple Disabilities) serves children who are severely handicapped; performs related duties as required.
Eligibility: An applicant must meet one of the following three criteria:
1. Possess an Associate Degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher learning.
2. Possess at least 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours from an accredited institution of higher learning.
3. Pass the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) approved ParaPro examination administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and possess a high school diploma or GED recognized by the Ohio Department of Education. Original diplomas, transcripts and ParaPro results must be presented for verification by the Classified Office of the Human Resources Department.
- An applicant must possess a strong desire and willingness to assist.
- An applicant mast have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, co-workers and supervisors.
- An applicant, if hired, must obtain an Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education.
Starting salary: $13.65/hr.
