The Broadcasting Intern will assist the Broadcast Manager and Radio Play-by-Play Announcer with various production and administrative duties throughout the 2026-2027 NHL season.

- Attend morning skate to obtain player audio to be used during game broadcast
- Edit and post highlights and interviews to Blue Jackets social media and podcast channels
- Assist Broadcast Manager in managing CBJ Radio X account during games
- Assist broadcast talent (starting line-ups, intermission and post-game stats, escorting intermission guest to the home radio booth)
- Set up headset outside of Blue Jackets dressing room and test all microphones outside of the radio booth (dressing room, press conference podium, between the benches) as needed
- Write and produce radio features that are distributed on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, providing Broadcasting Intern experience working with CBJ on-air talent, interacting with players and coaches, honing writing and scripting skills and working under a deadline
- Develop, produce and manage Blue Jackets podcasting content in collaboration with Broadcast Manager
- Assist in projects within Broadcasting department (fulfillment of radio network benefits and requests)
- Observe and learn the day-to-day production and programming operations of a National Hockey League radio broadcast
- Hone and improve the skills needed to work in professional broadcasting: writing, audio production, audio editing, interviewing and technical skills
- Must be enrolled in a four-year college or university. Broadcast, Journalism or Communications major encouraged
- Must be available for all Blue Jackets home games (availability for away games is a plus)
- Must be available from September – end of the season (including playoffs)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Proficient in audio production software (Adobe Audition, Audacity)
- Understanding of podcasting and digital audio
- Strong social media skills (X, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.)
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
