Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas according to established schedules and protocols.
- Perform floor care duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, spot cleaning, and periodic deep cleaning.
- Change bed linens, launder assigned items, and restock supplies as needed.
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment, following all infection prevention and OSHA guidelines.
- Respond promptly to resident or staff cleaning requests to ensure a high level of customer service.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and unusual observations to the supervisor.
- Adhere to facility policies, including resident rights, confidentiality, and safety procedures.
- Support a clean, orderly, and respectful environment that enhances residents’ comfort and well-being.
Qualifications
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 35–50 lbs, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of cleaning practices, infection control, and safe chemical handling (training provided).
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety.
- Willingness to work in a healthcare environment and interact respectfully with older adults.
Preferences
- Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare, hospitality, assisted living, or skilled nursing.
- Familiarity with infection prevention, bloodborne pathogen standards, or universal precautions.
- Customer service or resident service experience.
