Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
• Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pots, and food prep tools
• Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment
• Assist with menu planning and ingredient preparation for daily service or special events
• Support dietary department needs by understanding dietary restrictions and adhering to recipe guidelines for special diets
• Handle food production tasks such as food handling, portioning, plating, and garnishing with attention to detail
• Contribute to high-volume food service operations by managing multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining speed and accuracy

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering setting; fine dining experience is a plus
• Strong knife skills with the ability to perform precise cuts and food handling techniques
• Knowledge of cooking methods including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation techniques
• Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Experience in food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling protocols
• Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency across dishes
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in fast-paced environments
• Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential
