Job Title: Machine Operator Reports to: Production Manager

Job Summary:
As a Machine Operator, you’ll operate, maintain, and monitor woodworking machinery, such as CNC routers, panel saws, and edge banders, to produce high-quality wood components for high end architectural millwork.
Key Responsibilities:
· Set up and operate various woodworking machines, according to production specifications and safety guidelines.
· Select, load, and unload materials, such as wood, veneer, and laminate, ensuring the correct materials are used for each work order.
· Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings, and work order instructions to ensure accurate cuts and assembly.
· Interpret design files (CAD/CAM), blueprints, and work orders to create or adjust machine programs, including setting zero and reference points, tool offsets, and fixture setups.
· Monitor machine performance, inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, and use precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to verify specifications.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Machine Operations: Monitor and adjust settings as needed to optimize performance, minimize waste, and maintain product quality and tool life.
· Machine Maintenance: Troubleshoot equipment issues and routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
· Quality Control: Perform quality control inspections on finished parts to check for defects, imperfections, and inconsistencies, using precision measuring tools.
· Teamwork and Collaboration: Working effectively with team members, communication, and contributing to a positive work environment.
· Dependability and Punctuality: Arrive on time, complete tasks as scheduled, and being reliable.
· Adherence to company policies and procedures: Understanding and following established rules and guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years’ experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably with woodworking or cabinet components.
- Experience with specific machines such as CNC routers, panel saws, and edge banders is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings accurately.
- Basic knowledge of tooling for the millwork industry.
- Ability to compute basic mathematics principles including addition, subtraction, read a tape measure and converting inches/mm.
Physical Requirements:
· Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods
· Prolonged standing 8 hours per day
· Unconditioned manufacturing environment for 8 hours per day
· Continued use of hands to handle, control, feel objects, tools, and / or controls 8 hours per day
· Prolonged exposure to hazardous equipment
· Assisted lift up to 100 pounds multiple times per day
