What are the responsibilities and job description for the Canvasser position at Columbia Windows?
About the Role:
Columbia Windows is looking for motivated, outgoing individuals to join our canvassing team. As a canvasser, your primary responsibility is to engage homeowners in conversation and sell them on the value of meeting with our sales team. You’ll walk assigned neighborhoods, connect with residents, and represent our company with professionalism and enthusiasm.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Go door to door in residential neighborhoods and speak directly with homeowners.
- Present our window and patio door replacement services in a compelling way.
- Sell the value of scheduling a free, no-obligation in-home consultation.
- Keep track of your conversations and appointments each day.
- Be a positive, persuasive representative of Columbia Windows in the community.
Schedule:
- Tuesday–Friday: 12:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Sunday and Monday off
What We're Looking For:
- Comfortable talking with new people and walking neighborhoods
- Confident, friendly, and skilled at building rapport quickly
- Motivated by clear goals and performance-based rewards
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Compensation:
- $18/hour base pay
- Commission is 3% of each sale
- ----Most sales range from $10,000–$20,000, so commissions are typically $300–$600 per sale
- Effective reps often make 2 or more sales per week, resulting in weekly earnings of:
- ----$720 base pay (40 hours)
- ---- $600–$1,200 in commission
- ----Total: $1,320–$1,920/week
- Unlimited earning potential — the more appointments you set, the more you can earn
