The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Community Advisory Project is an ongoing prospective community cohort study of representative samples of persons with HIV in New York City (NYC) and three northern counties. The study is designed to gather information from the perspective of individuals living with HIV about their needs for health and social services, encounters the service system, and their physical, mental, and social wellbeing. The

project is community engaged research with multiple stakeholders. Analysis and report writing is conducted in collaboration with the HIV Health & Human Services Planning Council of New York, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and the New York State Department of Health. Results help inform program and policy decision making and service planning to meet the needs of communities

throughout NYC and the Tri-County region.

The Department of Sociomedical Sciences in the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health seeks to fill a Project Coordinator II position to support project coordination, data analysis, and report writing for a grant funded research project. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Project Coordinator II is responsible for ensuring effective communication and coordination among staff and external collaborators including funders, revising project’s instruments, managing day-to-day project operations, hiring/supervising staff, managing the budget, and preparing datasets for project studies. The Project Coordinator II will also be undertaking data analysis and preparing reports.

Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organization skills and be sensitive to the needs of people from diverse backgrounds in the New York area.

Responsibilities

Develop project’s analytical datasets, conduct data analysis, and prepare reports (40%).

Coordinate effective communication among staff and external collaborators and ensure timely completion of tasks (30%)

Manage budget and expenses; contracts, subcontracts, and personnel including hiring (10%)

Actively seek grant funding, write research proposals, and apply for grants (10%)

Perform related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested (10%)

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus 3 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree and at least 2 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training, and experience

Experience in research project management

Knowledge and experience in sophisticated statistical analysis

Knowledge and experience in quantitative research methodologies for social sciences specifically with survey research

Proficiency in programming with statistical software such as Stata, R, or Python
