The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Faculty House is a premier event space at Columbia University which welcomes seminars, meetings, events, and banquets. We are a customer-focused organization with an immediate opening for a Food Truck Worker.

Food Truck Worker works in a Food Truck in various locations on or near the university’s campuses. Food Truck Worker takes orders from customers, serves patrons, and collects payments. Food Truck Worker prepares and cooks to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time.

Responsibilities

• Takes orders from customers and cooks food requiring short preparation time, according to customer requirements
• Completes order inside food truck and serves customer
• Transports food products and prepared items between kitchens and food truck
• Receives customer payments
• Prepares and packages food items according to menu/instructions
• Orders, receives, and stores necessary food and supplies and maintains related records for the food truck
• Complies with the rules in regards to production and serving
• Uses and maintains tools and equipment in a proper manner
• Cleans, prepares, and keeps in order the area and equipment used in the job and other areas as assigned by the Manager
• Observes and practices safety standards
• Performs related duties as requested or assigned within job classification
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Must have a NYC Food Handlers License or obtain one within 30 days of hire
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a food truck a plus
