Description

The Systems Engineer - Skill Level 1 supports the design, integration, testing, and deployment of data center solutions for satellite-based and satellite collection-based systems. This role contributes to end-to-end systems engineering activities across hardware, software, networking, and Radio Frequency (RF) domains, supporting mission-critical communications and signal processing environments. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure reliable system performance, interoperability, and lifecycle sustainment. The ideal candidate has foundational experience with RF and signal processing systems and demonstrates the ability to work effectively in complex technical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, integration, testing, and deployment of data center solutions for satellite-based and satellite collection-based systems
  • Contribute to systems engineering activities across hardware, software, network, and RF components to ensure operational performance and interoperability
  • Support system design, architecture development, and end-to-end systems engineering efforts, including RF and FORNSAT-related activities
  • Perform system requirements analysis, traceability, verification, and validation throughout the system lifecycle
  • Assist in the development and integration of RF and signal processing systems for communication system applications
  • Participate in system integration testing, troubleshooting, performance evaluation, and issue resolution
  • Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, including system engineering artifacts, test plans, interface control documents, and configuration management records
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support system deployment and sustainment activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of systems engineering experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline
    • Five (5) additional years of relevant systems engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with end-to-end systems engineering, RF systems, signal processing systems, and FORNSAT environments

    • DOD 8570 Certification
