College Success Advisor- Williamson and Lewisburg Campuses

The College Success Advisor position will provide holistic student support services, intrusive academic advising and outreach to new students. The incumbent will guide students through the entire on-boarding, enrollment and advisement process which includes but is not limited to areas such as admissions, career counseling, financial aid, academic planning, academic advising, and class scheduling. The incumbent will respond to alerts for at-risk students provided by college staff and work closely with college resources including counseling, disability services, and testing as support mechanisms. This position will serve as a mentor and coach throughout the academic tenure of assigned student, supporting them from enrollment to graduation (in collaboration with faculty advisors upon the student’s completion of select benchmarks).

This in-person position is split between the Williamson County and Lewisburg Campuses.

Essential Functions

• Assist students in the completion of on-boarding, application, and admissions to the college.
• Serve as a primary academic advisor, coach and mentor for a caseload of students.
• Assist students with career exploration and choice of academic major.
• Assist students in developing Academic Plans for timely completion that include appropriate interventions at crucial junctures.
• Assist students in accessing resources for academic, financial and/or personal support, coordinating with college personnel to resolve personal and financial issues that are barriers to student success.
• Maintain detailed records of student interactions and assure accurate tracking of individual student interventions and outcomes for at risk students.
• Maintain a flexible schedule for student advisement appointments in-person or virtual.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on the delivery of support components.
• Assist students/faculty advisors with completing Admissions, Financial Aid requirements and SAP Appeals.
• Promote visibility of the Student Success Coach
• Collaborate on individual student success strategies with faculty advisors.
• Participate in specialized training.
• Maintain currency of advising information in electronic and print publications.
• Support the Director of First Year Experience in assuring the development of individual academic plans and monitoring student progress toward completion.
• Monitor curricular changes and the impact of changes on students’ completion goals.
• Assist the Director of First Year Experience with developing and carrying out an effective data-informed retention plan for students who are most at risk of not completing their program of study.
• Support development, oversight of programs and services that result in enrollment, progression, retention and graduation growth for the service area.

• Support institutional initiatives through committee participation.
• Assist with college-wide events, student engagement efforts, and other related responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Identify and recommend course offerings to support students’ timely degree completion.
  
  

Education, Training, And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree - Required.
• Master’s degree - Preferred
• Academic Advising Experience - Preferred
• Student Services and/or teaching experience, preferably in a post-secondary setting.
• Experience in academic or career counseling preferably in a post-secondary setting.

• Ability to effectively use information technology including Microsoft Office and related applications

• Experience with Banner Software is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Normal work schedule is 7:45 am through 4:15 pm (37.5 hours) Monday through Friday. Schedule flexibility, including some evening and weekend hours may be required occasionally within the 37.5 work week.
• Regular travel between the Williamson County, Lewisburg and Columbia Campuses.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Must have reliable transportation to travel among southern campuses and to college-wide meetings/events as needed within the 9-county service area.
• Normal sitting and movement in an office environment.
• Regular use of a college-issued computer requiring visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  
  

Hiring Salary Range (Annual): $39,290 to $47,150

This in-person position is split between the Williamson and Lewisburg Campuses.
