PURPOSE
The position will provide office support and assist the Science Coordinator in meeting the departmental needs of all students and associated teachers in the district.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Manage the budgets and curricular materials for the Science Department, including purchasing, accounting, special payroll, reporting, inventory, and material distribution.
- Perform a wide range of clerical functions including data entry, records-keeping, copying, website maintenance, and calendar management.
- Enter contracts as needed into Simbli.
- Communicate with a variety of constituents (families, teachers, administrators, vendors), initiating and/or receiving written correspondence, telephone calls, or in-person visits.
- Coordinate the logistics surrounding department meetings or professional development workshops.
- Schedule and coordinate bus transportation for department field trips and Boone County Nature School shuttle.
- Manage the Teton Trip registration, payments, budget, contracts, transportation, communication, purchasing, special payroll, fund raisers, student data management, PLAs, departure day and return day logistics, and other associated tasks.
Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

Reports To: Elementary Science Coordinator and Secondary Science Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: High school diploma; Minimum three (3) years of administrative office experience; Excellent organizational skills; Ability to prioritize workload; High degree of accuracy, and computer proficient.
The candidate should have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred: Knowledge of CPS systems such as Microsoft office, Google Office applications, Business Plus, Works, School Pay, Frontline, etc.

Physical Demands: Ability to see close work such as typed or handwritten material. Travel between District science sites is required.
Attendance: Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of the position. The selected applicant will periodically work outside of typical office hours to coordinate events.
