What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager - Patient Access position at Columbia Memorial Hospital?
The Patient Access Manager is responsible for administering, coordinating and reviewing the performance of patient access functions across the organization. Patient Access functions to include, preregistration, registration, scheduling, referrals, prior authorization, cost estimations, admissions, and financial clearance.

Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Management leadership skills, setting standards and tracking performance. Analytical skills to track trends, and KPIs. Process development and implementation. Strong computer skills. Advanced knowledge of scheduling, preregistration, financial clearance, insurance verification, admission order requirements, and prior authorization. Knowledge of applicable laws, guidelines and professional standards.
License/Certification: N/A
Education and/or Experience: Required: Previous experience in a supervisory or management role with experience in the relevant areas of patient access, including in-depth knowledge of customer service, registration, scheduling, and revenue cycle. Preferred: previous experience as Patient Access Manager
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
The Patient Access Manager may spend long hours sitting and using office equipment such as computers. Working in multiple locations including rounding (on-campus and offsite) locations will be required. Position involves standing, walking, stooping and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 25 pounds). Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.The Manager will be expected to work in very busy environments with excess noise.
