What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Assembly Technician position at Columbia Industries, LLC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assemble and test hydraulic assemblies according to Columbia specifications.
2. Apply and develop basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment.
3. Clean up components after assembly according to specifications and verbal or written instructions.
4. Input labor details into EPICOR System (LTS) for cost tracking purposes.
5. Use material handling equipment such as fork-lift and cranes to move parts and components from one work or storage area to another as required.
6. Practice good housekeeping in work area.
7. Assist other Assemblers as assigned in more advanced functions as part of training.
8. Assemble hydraulic lines and fittings.
9. Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical components for proper function.
10. Work closely with Engineers and other technical personnel to resolve any design issues.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
2. Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
3. Respectfully takes direction from Area Coordinator or Lead.
4. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
5 years of industry experience preferred.
Electronic-Hydraulic experience a plus.
Ability to test hydraulic designs in-house.
Familiar with Print reading and schematics.
Education and/or Equivalent Experience
1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
2. Some technical training and education preferred.
Critical Skills
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze and effectively present information.
Mathematical Skills: Advanced mathematical concepts.
Physical Demands
Occasionally: Stand, and lift more than 50 pounds, infrequently, 35 lbs. frequently.
Regularly: Stand, bend and use hands.
