What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping position at COLUMBIA HOTEL INC?
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Acknowledge in a friendly and courteous manner any guest that you come in contact with, maintaining high guest service standards at all times.
2. Provide a clean, sanitary and inviting hotel room for the guest.
3. Cleans guest bathrooms and bedrooms/parlors.
4. Makes beds with clean linen and places clean linen in bathrooms.
5. Vacuum and spot cleans carpets.
6. Cleans lamps and furniture. Check for burned out bulbs and replace them.
7. Cleans the assigned number of guestrooms in minutes for each guest as indicated by the Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Manager or General Manager.
8. Maintain all uniforms, equipment and supplies issued by the Executive Housekeeper.
9. Turn in and report all lost and found items, damages, missing items or irregularities to the Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Manager or the General Manager.
10. Assume responsibility for master key issued. Keep all guestroom keys in your smock at all times. Return all keys to the Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Manager or Front Desk.
11. Refer all requests for admittance to a guest room to the Front Desk. Do not unlock any guestroom for a guest who claims to have lost or forgotten the guestroom key.
12. Stock carts with necessary linen, room and cleaning supplies.
13. Reports room status throughout the day.
14. Assist other room attendants or trainees as directed by the Executive Housekeeper, to contribute to the smooth operation of the department and the hotel.
15. Report all maintenance requirements via work order system.
16. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Manager or General Manager.
17. Complete assigned room sheet and turn it in at end of shift.
18. Maintain uniform and name badge in excellent condition and appearance.
19. Attend meetings as scheduled by the Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Manager or General Manager.
20. May be required to work at other times than normally scheduled hours. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
21. From time to time, you will need to assist in other additional duties requested by management or corporate office.
