What you’ll do:
The Brass Tacks
- Serve as the senior on-property financial leader, overseeing all accounting operations including Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with company policies and ownership requirements.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, including the Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, cash flow reports, and supporting schedules.
- Partner with the General Manager and ownership to provide financial insight, forecasts, and operational recommendations.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure proper recording of payroll and related taxes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax filings and payments.
- Lead the annual budget and periodic forecast process; analyze variances and communicate results to leadership.
- Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and capital expenditures.
- Oversee accounts receivable, including credit policies and collections.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, account coding, and payment schedules.
- Review and approve journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Oversee fixed asset tracking, depreciation, and amortization.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure audit-ready financial records.
- Supervise, train, and develop on-property finance staff.
- Support operational departments with financial analysis and guidance as needed.
The Nitty Gritty
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience in the hospitality industry, including hotel property-level experience.
- Prior on-property controller or senior hotel accounting leadership experience preferred.
- Two or more years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems and hospitality-specific tax requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Professional, approachable, and collaborative leadership style.
- This is an onsite position - actual location within King County to be determined.
