Middle School Social Studies Leave Replacement Teacher

Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and development of the CGPS curriculum and the success of its students. The Middle School Social Studies (Leave Replacement) Teacher is committed to providing quality instruction in this subject area through collaboration with a grade-level departmental team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implements curricula and activities to meet academic standards
• Implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and uses the assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
• Participates in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions
• Manages a safe and predictable classroom environment
• Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Provides a multitude of cultural lenses for instruction
• In accordance with Middle School responsibilities, other duties as assigned by the Middle School Director, including but not limited to lunch duty, recess duty or study halls

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master's degree preferred and NYS Teaching Certification is helpful but not required
• Mastery of and enthusiasm for History;
• Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom;
• Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom;
• Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player;
• Belief in and alignment with CGPS’ core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable

WORK HOURS

• 7:45am - 3:15 pm
• Weekly after-school faculty and department meetings
• Leave Dates:  Start date ASAP - end of 25-26 School Year (June 2026)

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $71,000- $118,500 annually, based on completed degree programs and years of experience. We also offer a warm and supportive culture as well as exceptional benefits, including but not limited to:
