The Middle School Social Studies (Leave Replacement) Teacher is committed to providing quality instruction in this subject area through collaboration with a grade-level departmental team.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESImplements curricula and activities to meet academic standardsImplement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and uses the assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practicesParticipates in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functionsManages a safe and predictable classroom environmentCommunicates effectively with students, families, and colleaguesProvides a multitude of cultural lenses for instructionIn accordance with Middle School responsibilities, other duties as assigned by the Middle School Director, including but not limited to lunch duty, recess duty or study hallsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree Required; Master's degree preferred and NYS Teaching Certification is helpful but not requiredMastery of and enthusiasm for History;Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom;Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom;Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player;Belief in and alignment with CGPS’ core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable WORK HOURS7:45am - 3:15 pmWeekly after-school faculty and department meetingsLeave Dates:  Start date ASAP - end of 25-26 School Year (June 2026)COMPENSATIONThe salary range for this position is $71,000- $118,500 annually, based on completed degree programs and years of experience.
