In this vital role, you will support clinical operations, assist patients with eyewear needs, and ensure smooth administrative workflows. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to seniors, while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and compliance. Duties
- Assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, including spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, and frame adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and style.
- Manage optical laboratory tasks such as lens ordering, inspection, and quality control to ensure accurate prescriptions and timely delivery.
- Operate POS systems and cash registers for eyewear sales, process payments accurately, and handle medical billing following HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries about eyewear options, insurance coverage, and clinic procedures with professionalism and clarity.
Skills
- Familiarity with optical experience including spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and optical laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and medical billing practices to ensure compliance.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for retail sales transactions, insurance claims processing.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor that puts patients at ease while providing clear guidance on eyewear choices or clinic procedures.
- Retail management experience or retail sales skills are advantageous for handling eyewear sales confidently in a busy environment.
- Competence in operating POS systems, cash registers, and other clinic technology tools efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
