Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team and focus on our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with seniors, particularly those with memory impairments, and will be dedicated to creating a stimulating and nurturing environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the needs and preferences of our residents.
- Plan and coordinate a variety of therapeutic and recreational activities to promote cognitive stimulation, physical well-being, and social engagement.
- Collaborate with the care team to understand the individual needs and abilities of each resident and adjust activities accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' participation in activities and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
- Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages resident involvement and a sense of community.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a senior living environment, specifically with residents in Memory Care.
- Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer's disease, as well as an understanding of therapeutic approaches to support individuals with memory impairments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging and meaningful activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
Education and Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Activity Director Certified preferred
