Graduate Assistant – Strength and Conditioning
Department:  Athletics
Location:  Columbia, MO
Type:  Staff, Part-time
Pay: $10,000 stipend to be paid on a prorated basis per pay period for a 10-month period from August to May (Pay range may vary based on geographic location)

Job Summary:  The Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant will provide overall support to the Columbia College athletic programs.
  • Assist strength & conditioning staff members with daily workouts and coverage of all athletic teams and other duties as assigned by the strength and conditioning and administrative staff.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
    • Assist in the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports teams.
    • Attend and actively participate in staff development sessions, clinics, and certification trainings
    • Maintain awareness of current research and trends in sport science and performance training
    • Provide feedback to athletes regarding performance and improvement areas
    • Track athletes' progress and adapt workouts in coordination with coaching staff and athletic trainers
    • Supervise team and individual training sessions to ensure proper technique, safety, and compliance
    • Participation in program and athletic department fund-raising efforts.
    • Work effectively with students, student-athletes, administrators, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, officials, and coaching peers.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of NAIA rules and maintain the integrity of the athletic program through the appropriate application of these rules.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must be accepted in to the Graduate Program at Columbia College.
  • Must be certified or eligible for certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a college environment
