In this essential role, you’ll work alongside a team of educators to create a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive.

What You’ll Do

• Support teachers in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Interact positively with children to promote their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, healthy, and organized classroom environment.
• Step into the lead role in the teacher’s absence.
• Communicate daily with parents and staff to support each child’s development.
• Maintain accurate records such as attendance, assessments, and progress notes.
• Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies.

• Ability to pass a physical exam and background checks.

A Few More Details

• This is a non-exempt (hourly) position under the supervision of the Education Supervisor.
• Travel is generally not required but may occasionally occur.

Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM during the school year

Education & Experience:

All positions must have experience with young children and their families; such as knowledge of human development, family dynamics and the needs of children. Knowledge of the health, nutrition, social, and educational needs of the young child.

• Teacher Assistant: Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Obtain a CDA within 24 months of hire. [Starting rate $13.89]
• Teacher Assistant II: Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and a CDA in Early Childhood Education. [Starting rate $16.50]
• Teacher Assistant I: Possess an AA in Early Childhood Education. [Starting rate $17.74]

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of participating in active play and physical activities with children.
• Must be able to frequently bend, kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, reach overhead, and safely navigate stairs, step stools, and step ladders.
