Compensation is open to negotiation for the right candidate. Employees hired into this role are eligible for a $10,000 hiring bonus.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients for their condition or illness or make appropriate referrals to appropriate specialist.
- Provide instructions and guidance regarding medical matters to patients and their families.
- Performs preventative services such as physicals and/or well child exams.
- Orders, review lab results and notify patient/parents of findings.
- Refill requests and correspondence within 24 hours of receiving.
- Review and fill out any patient forms within 24 hours of receiving.
- Take patient vitals, if needed.
- Returns any patient phone calls by the end of the day, with exception to calls where patient/ parent is aware that call back will not be the same day.
- Arrange for, or refer patients to, needed services that cannot be provided at the clinic.
- Treat all patients and their families with the upmost respect and care while providing quality bedside manners.
- Contributes to our team effort in providing quality service to our patients and their families.
- Billing for office visits, which include visit level and diagnosis within 24 hours of appointment.
- Complete chart dictation for all office visits within 24 hours of appointment.
- Be available for after hours on-call triage service at least a third of month and create cases for all calls.
- Attend any mandatory office meetings.
- Participate with a physician in a periodic review of the patients’ health records. This review may be formal or informal.
- Participates with a supervisor in an annual performance review.
- Qualifications
- Graduate degree from an accredited school, such as a Master of Science in nursing
- Must have a current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of Washington
- 2-4 years of clinical work experience
- Must be compassionate and personable
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other medical staff
- Strong leadership skills, self-confidence, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Exceptional active listening skills
